There is always a challenge in creating a visually striking ensemble without sticking out like a sore thumb. Making the patterns, colours, fabrics and styles work in perfect harmony requires patience and an eye for detail. Your experience is also a factor I find, as a bad or good outfit can be discerned by yourself or others around you. As they say, the truth hurts.
To illustrate what I’m trying to say, here are a few choice outfits worn by Mehmet, a passionate sartorialist from Madrid. His taste is more towards the classics, with pairings that work very well together. My favourite is the blue/brown glen check with the solid blue dress shirt and light brown grenadine tie, all very complementary and truly an outfit greater than the sum of its parts.
Not shown are a lovely pair of Carmina Uetam loafers in brown, navy trousers and brown socks. Classic, subtle and very elegant I must say.
